“Alone, we can do so little; together we can do so much.” -Helen Keller

Mack’s Wax routinely creates wax melt scent collections whose proceeds go towards local organizations that benefit the communities we live in.

Boone County Animal Shelter

This is Mack’s big sister, Josie. Josie created the Mack’s Wax fundraisers when, prior to her 9th birthday, she asked to collect donations instead of birthday presents. When thinking of ways to collect donations, she decided that she would sell wax melts that were initially a hobby, and take those proceeds to purchase items the animal shelter needed.

CHIP TERRY FUND FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

Our First Responder Scents included three scent lines that were aimed at our men and women who serve our communities every day. Selling our Fire, Police, and Healthcare scents helped us be able to collect donations that were used to support the Chip Terry Fund for First Responders.

The Chip Terry Fund’s Mission is to provide educational, financial and emotional support and counseling to police, fire, and other emergency personnel and their families, particularly those affected by PTSD and other occupational related stress disorders.

This fund is doing wonderful things in our community, so if you’d like to learn more about this fund or to donate and support their cause, click on the link below to visit their website.

Queen City Bulldog Rescue

We love our Frenchie Mack, and we tend to follow and support various Bully Breed rescues, with Queen City Bulldog Rescue being one of our favs! So when they took in Rogue, we instantly fell in love and wanted to help with her (and all the others at the rescue’s) care.

When we created our mini melts, we thought it was a good time to team up with Queen City since they had just brought in Rogue who is what I call, a “mini” Frenchie (she’s so tiny!!) So we sent over some mini melts and got Rogue’s approval, which is when we announced that a portion of the proceeds from each mini melt purchase will go directly to the rescue.

“The mission of Queen City Bulldog Rescue is to offer satisfactory quality of life to all Bulldogs, by providing rescue and rehabilitation with subsequent placement into a loving, safe and educated forever home.

We strive to educate our community about this breed that is born predisposed to a multitude of health problems, and high maintenance requirements, with the hope of one day all bulldogs only being owned by informed, responsible owners.

Queen City Bulldog Rescue looks forward to welcoming many more bulldogs, and bulldog lovers into our hearts and our story. We’re here to rescue, rehabilitate, educate and support.”

Inclusion and Equity at CHNK

CHNK proudly provides services, employment, and volunteer opportunities regardless of an individual’s race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, political affiliation, marital status, perceived or actual sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or other non-merit factor.

At CHNK, though, it’s about so much more than having a discrimination policy in place. We live and breathe inclusion and equity, because we believe all children and all families deserve hope and opportunity.

In 2016, CHNK earned the HRC Foundation’s All Children—All Families (ACAF) seal of recognition. This recognition identifies our commitment to supporting and serving all youth, including those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ). We are the first and only child welfare organization in Kentucky to achieve this recognition, and we do not take that distinction lightly.
